Technical SEO for WordPress

I review how Google crawls, indexes and understands your WordPress site, and fix what keeps your pages from showing up as they should: structure, internal links, metadata, structured data and indexing.

It is the technical foundation any content strategy relies on.

Search Console · Sitemaps · Structured data · Site architecture

New and existing WordPress sites

Let's review your website's technical SEO

Send me your website URL and the problem you have noticed: pages not indexed, Search Console warnings, lost traffic…

I will do a first review of your website before replying.

Audit first

The technical foundation, before any tricks

An SEO plugin helps, but it does not fix a badly structured website. If important pages are not linked, headings are out of order or there is duplicate content, Google has a hard time.

I start with the data: what Search Console reports, which pages are indexed, which are not and why, and how the site is organized.

With that audit, I fix what affects visibility the most first, and I do it at the source: in the theme, the templates or the configuration, not just with patches.

Is Google struggling to understand your site?

These are some common signs that the technical foundation of your WordPress site needs a review.

  1. Pages missing from Google

Important services, products or articles that do not show up in results even though they are published.

  2. Search Console warnings

Excluded pages, crawl errors or indexing issues you do not know how to interpret.

  3. Duplicate content

Tags, categories, parameters or versions with and without www competing with each other for the same searches.

  4. Messy structure

Poorly ordered headings, unclear URLs or an architecture that makes the site hard to understand.

  5. No structured data

The site does not give search engines structured information about the business, services or content.

  6. Traffic lost after a change

Visits dropped after a redesign or migration: URLs changed without redirects, or pages that disappeared.

Technical SEO, and speed if you need it

Technical SEO

Indexing, structure and structured data

I work on the technical elements that help search engines crawl, index and understand the site correctly.

It can include site architecture, semantic hierarchy, internal linking, indexing, metadata and Schema Markup depending on the needs of each project.

Is your website slow too?

Speed and Core Web Vitals affect the experience and how Google assesses the page. If your website takes too long to load, that is handled in speed optimization.

You can hire each service separately or both together.

What does WordPress technical SEO include?

Depending on the audit, the work focuses on what is limiting the visibility of your website the most.

  1. 01

    Technical audit

I review Search Console, the indexed pages and how the site is crawled to find what is holding back its visibility.

  2. 02

    Indexing and crawling

I check the sitemap, robots.txt, noindex tags and canonicals so Google reaches the important pages and skips the ones it does not need.

  3. 03

    Architecture and URLs

I organize the page and category structure so every piece of content has its place and clear URLs.

  4. 04

    Semantic hierarchy

I fix headings and HTML markup so content is easier to understand for users and search engines.

  5. 05

    Internal linking

I connect related pages so the most important ones receive links and none are left orphaned.

  6. 06

    Metadata

I prepare titles, descriptions and social sharing tags based on the type of page and what each visitor is looking for.

  7. 07

    Structured data

I add Schema Markup suited to the site: business, services, articles, products or FAQs.

What sets it apart

Technical SEO with a developer's judgment

Because I also design and build WordPress sites, I can fix problems where they start: in the theme, the templates or the configuration, not just in the settings of an SEO plugin.

And I make sure every change respects the design and how the website works.

  1. 01

    Data-driven audit

Priorities come from Search Console and a review of the site, not from a generic checklist.

  2. 02

    Fixes at the source

If the problem lies in how the website was built, I fix it in the build so it does not come back.

  3. 03

    Clear explanations

I explain what was changed and why, without unnecessary jargon, so you understand the state of your website.

From the audit
to a site Google understands

Reviewing first and validating afterwards shows what has worked and avoids making changes blindly.

Estimate your budget
  1. 01

    We review the starting point

We analyze Search Console, the indexed pages and the structure of the site as it is today.

  2. 02

    We find the problems

I identify what keeps pages from being crawled, indexed or understood correctly.

  3. 03

    We prioritize improvements

We order the actions by their impact on visibility and the effort they require.

  4. 04

    We apply the changes

I fix structure, indexing, links, metadata and structured data, working in a staging environment whenever possible.

  5. 05

    We validate with Google

I check the changes with Google's tools and request a review of the affected pages.

  6. 06

    Follow-up

We track progress in Search Console and, if the project needs it, continue with new improvements.

Clear expectations

What you can expect from technical SEO

Technical SEO gets your website ready for Google to find and understand it, but it is worth knowing what to expect from it.

I prefer to explain this from the start so decisions are made with real information.

  1. A foundation, not a guarantee

Nobody can guarantee rankings on Google. Technical SEO removes the obstacles so your pages can compete.

  2. Google needs time

Indexing and visibility changes usually take from a few days to several weeks to show.

  3. It does not replace content

A technically sound website still needs useful content to rank for the searches that matter to you.

  4. Summary of the work

When we finish, you will know what was changed, what was achieved and what is still pending, if anything.

Companies and agencies

For businesses with their own website and agency teams

Let's talk about your project
01

For companies

If your website does not show up on Google as it should, I can review it, explain what is going on and fix the technical foundation.

You do not need to know about SEO: I explain the audit and the priorities clearly.

02

For agencies

I can support your agency with technical SEO for your clients' WordPress sites.

I can also review projects before launch or during a migration so they do not lose rankings.

Questions about
WordPress technical SEO

Does technical SEO include ranking work?

Technical SEO prepares the foundation of the site: structure, crawlability, indexing, metadata and structured data. A content strategy or ongoing SEO requires additional scope.

What is the difference between technical SEO and content SEO?

Technical SEO makes sure Google can access and understand your website. Content SEO is about what you publish and for which searches. You need both; I take care of the technical side.

Do I need Search Console?

It is highly recommended, because it is Google's source of data about your website. If you do not have it set up, I can help you add it as part of the work.

Can you help me keep my rankings during a redesign?

Yes. I review the current URLs, prepare the redirects needed and check after launch that Google finds the new pages.

How long until the effect shows on Google?

Technical changes are applied right away, but Google takes from a few days to several weeks to crawl and index the pages again.

Can I hire technical SEO only?

Yes. You can hire technical SEO only, speed optimization only, or both, depending on what your site needs.
