From Figma to Elementor for Eatonville Rising

WordPress development with Elementor for Eatonville Rising, the cultural celebration marking 140 years of Eatonville, Florida, the oldest incorporated African American municipality in the United States. Working with the Digigor agency, I bring their team’s Figma designs to WordPress page by page: the home page and the pages for all six events. We are still working together.

The starting point

Six events, one celebration

Eatonville Rising is a season of six events: a school tournament, two nights of concerts, a public art installation, a fashion and food expo, cultural heritage tours of the town and an academic conference on Zora Neale Hurston.

Each event needs its own page, with its own personality but within a shared brand. And the website has to grow as artists, dates and tickets are confirmed. The site already existed with a different design; the Digigor team fully redesigned it in Figma.

My role

The design is the agency’s, the development is mine

The design is the agency’s; the development is mine. We work page by page: the designer finishes a page in Figma and I build it in Elementor, true to the design and adapted to tablet and mobile.

Many sections repeat across events, such as the six-event overview, the newsletter block or the footer, so I make sure they look and behave the same across the whole site.

How we work
with the agency

The website is built page by page: every new design follows the same cycle.

Estimate your budget
  1. 01

I receive the page in Figma

The agency’s design team hands over each page when it is ready.

  2. 02

    I review and ask

I clarify with the agency what the design does not define, such as states, long content or mobile behavior.

  3. 03

    Elementor development

I build the page true to the design, with its carousels, countdowns and forms.

  4. 04

    Responsive

I adjust every section for tablet and mobile, keeping hierarchy and readability.

  5. 05

    Review and launch

The agency reviews, I apply the adjustments and we publish. Then we move on to the next page or change.

What my work includes

I make sure every page of the design works just as well in WordPress.

  1. 01

    Figma to Elementor

Every page of the design brought to WordPress with Elementor, section by section.

  2. 02

    Pages for all six events

One page per event, each with its own identity within the shared Eatonville Rising brand.

  3. 03

    Pixel-perfect and responsive

True to the design on desktop, tablet and mobile.

  4. 04

    Interactive sections

Carousels, countdowns and sign-up forms built into the design.

  5. 05

    Ongoing collaboration

New sections and changes as the event season moves forward.

Result

A website that grows with the season

Eatonville Rising has a website that lives up to its celebration: each event with its own page, a shared identity and an Elementor foundation that can keep growing.

The collaboration continues: as artists, dates and tickets are confirmed, the agency designs the changes and I bring them to the website.
