1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. There are similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage. Some are technical and necessary for the website to work; others are used to analyze visits or show advertising and require your prior consent.
2. Cookies this website uses
- Technical: the website stores in your browser’s local storage whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, with the date and the version of this policy (key
rensotwo-consent), so it does not ask you again on every visit. It is necessary and does not require consent. Your choice is kept for 12 months; after that period, or if this policy changes, I will ask you again. - Analytics: Google Analytics cookies, only if you accept them. They are described in the next section.
No advertising cookies, advertising pixels or social media cookies are used.
3. Analytics cookies
If you accept them, I use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to learn, in aggregate, how many people visit the website, which pages they view, from which country and where they come from, and how many forms are sent. This information helps me improve the content. Advertising features, ad personalization and Google Signals are turned off, and your choice is passed on to Google through its consent mode.
- _ga
- Distinguishes visitors anonymously. Duration: 2 years.
- _ga_*
- Keeps the session state. Duration: 2 years.
Google Analytics only loads after you click “Accept”. If you reject, none of these cookies are set. More information in Google’s privacy policy.
4. Third-party services
Cloudflare Turnstile
The contact forms include Cloudflare Turnstile, a verification system that protects the website from automated submissions. To do so, it processes technical data from the browser and the connection. Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes. It is a security measure necessary for the forms to work. More information in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
External links
If you follow a link to other sites (such as Upwork or social networks), those sites may set their own cookies according to their policies.
5. How to manage them
You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. If you withdraw your consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
You can also view, block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Keep in mind that blocking the security technologies may prevent the forms from being sent; in that case you can email me directly at rensotwo@gmail.com.
6. Changes
If I add other non-essential cookies, I will update this policy and ask for your consent again before setting them.
