Speed optimization for WordPress

I find what is slowing down your WordPress site and improve speed and Core Web Vitals based on how the site is built: theme, page builder, plugins and hosting.

I measure before and after, so you know what changed and by how much.

Let's review your loading speed

Send me your website URL and the problem you have noticed: slow loading, Core Web Vitals in red, a sluggish dashboard…

I will do a first review of your website before replying.

Audit first

Optimize with data, not with random plugins

Installing a caching plugin or switching on every optimization option does not always make a website better. Sometimes it even breaks features or makes the experience worse.

Before changing anything, I measure the starting point and check what is really slowing down loading: images, scripts, plugins, the theme, the page builder or the server configuration.

With that audit, I apply the improvements with the most impact first, and only those that fit how the site is built.

Does your website need to be faster?

These are some common signs that the performance of your WordPress site needs a review.

  1. Slow loading on mobile

Pages take several seconds to appear on phones, which is exactly where a large share of your visitors are.

  2. Core Web Vitals in red

PageSpeed Insights or Search Console report LCP, INP or CLS issues you do not know how to fix.

  3. Too many plugins

Plugins that load scripts on every page, overlap with each other or that nobody remembers the purpose of.

  4. Heavy images

Photos uploaded at full size, without modern formats or lazy loading, that make every visit longer.

  5. The page "jumps" while loading

Buttons and text that move while the page finishes loading, and clicks that land in the wrong place.

  6. The dashboard is slow too

Editing a page or saving a change in WordPress takes longer and longer, a sign that something underneath is too heavy.

Speed first, and technical SEO if you need it

Performance

Speed and Core Web Vitals

I optimize images, scripts, caching, plugins and technical configuration with tools like WP Rocket and Perfmatters when they suit the project.

The goal is a website that loads fast for your real visitors, not just a good score in a test.

Worried about Google too?

A fast website helps, but if pages are not being indexed, the structure is messy or structured data is missing, that is handled in technical SEO.

You can hire each service separately or both together.

What does speed optimization include?

Depending on the audit, the work focuses on the areas slowing your website down the most.

  1. 01

    Performance audit

I measure the current state with PageSpeed Insights and Core Web Vitals data, and check which resources and processes slow down loading.

  2. 02

    Images and assets

I optimize formats, sizes and lazy loading for images, fonts and other heavy assets.

  3. 03

    Caching and configuration

I set up caching and optimizations with tools like WP Rocket or Perfmatters when they suit the site.

  4. 04

    Scripts and plugins

I check what loads on each page, remove what is unnecessary and reduce the impact of plugins and third-party scripts.

  5. 05

    Theme and page builder

I review how pages are built in Elementor, Bricks or another builder and fix what adds weight without adding value.

  6. 06

    Visual stability (CLS)

I reserve space for images, ads and dynamic elements so the page does not shift while it loads.

  7. 07

    Hosting and server

I check the PHP version, server caching and response time, and tell you whether the hosting is holding the site back.

  8. Is your website slow?

I want to optimize my WordPress site

What sets it apart

Optimization with a developer's judgment

Because I also design and build WordPress sites, I understand how the theme, the page builder and every development decision affect final performance.

That makes it possible to go beyond surface tweaks and fix the root of the problem when it lies in how the site was built.

And always taking care not to break features or the design while optimizing.

  1. 01

    Measured before and after

Every change starts from an initial measurement and is checked at the end to see what has improved.

  2. 02

    Compatible changes

Optimizations are adapted to the technology of the site and tested so they do not affect how it works.

  3. 03

    Clear explanations

I explain what was changed and why, without unnecessary jargon, so you understand the state of your website.

From the first measurement
to a faster website

Measuring before and after shows what has worked and avoids making changes blindly.

Estimate your budget
  1. 01

    We measure the starting point

We review the speed and Core Web Vitals of the site as it is today, on mobile and desktop.

  2. 02

    We find the causes

I identify which resources, plugins, settings or parts of the theme are slowing down loading.

  3. 03

    We prioritize improvements

We order the actions by impact and risk to start with what adds the most.

  4. 04

    We apply the optimizations

I make the changes in a staging environment whenever possible, so the live website is not affected.

  5. 05

    We measure again

We compare the results with the initial measurement and check that everything still works correctly.

  6. 06

    Follow-up

If the project needs it, we continue with maintenance so the website does not slow down again over time.

Clear expectations

What you can expect from optimization

Optimization makes your website faster, but it is worth knowing what to expect from it.

I prefer to explain this from the start so decisions are made with real information.

  1. Measurable improvements

Changes are compared with the initial measurement to see their effect on speed and Core Web Vitals.

  2. No magic scores

Results depend on the hosting, theme and plugins. I do not promise 100 in PageSpeed, but real improvements.

  3. Real-user data takes time

Real-user Core Web Vitals data in Search Console takes a few weeks to reflect the changes.

  4. Summary of the work

When we finish, you will know what was changed, what was achieved and what is still pending, if anything.

If your website is slow, I can review it, explain what is going on and apply the improvements it needs.

You do not need to know about performance: I explain the audit and the priorities clearly.

02

For agencies

I can support your agency with speed optimization for your clients' WordPress sites.

I can also review projects before launch to avoid performance issues.

Questions about
WordPress speed

Can you get a 100 score in PageSpeed Insights?

I do not promise a specific score, because it depends on the hosting, theme, plugins and content of each site. The goal is to improve real speed and Core Web Vitals in a measurable way.

What tools do you use to optimize?

It depends on the site. I work on images, scripts, caching, plugins and technical configuration, and use tools like WP Rocket or Perfmatters when they suit the project.

Can optimization break something on my website?

Some optimizations can affect features if applied without checking. That is why I test every change and, whenever possible, work in a staging environment before publishing.

Can you optimize a website built with Elementor?

Yes. I work with Elementor, Bricks Builder and WordPress sites built with other tools, adapting the optimization to each technology.

Do I need to change hosting?

Not always. First I optimize what depends on the website. If the server is still the bottleneck after that, I explain it with data so you can decide.

How long until the effect shows?

Speed improvements can be measured as soon as they are applied. Real-user data in Search Console usually takes a few weeks to reflect them.

Does it include technical SEO?

No. Technical SEO (indexing, structure, metadata and structured data) is a separate service. You can hire speed only, technical SEO only, or both.
